Jordan is a country in the Middle East. Only Israel and Palestine separate it from the Mediterranean Sea. Other neighboring countries include Syria, Iraq and Saudi Arabia.
Jordan is a monarchy, that is, there is a king. The King must abide by the Constitution. There is also a parliament. Most of Jordan is deserted, with mountains to the east. On its western border lies the Dead Sea, a large Salt lake. In summer it is very hot, in winter it may rain in the northwest. In the very south of Jordan, it extends to the Gulf of Aqaba, part of the Red Sea.
