Hobro is an old trading and railroad town in the North Jutland region and on the Jutland Peninsula in northern Denmark.

The population of the city is 11736. The city is located on hilly lands at the mouth of the Mariager Fjord near the old Viking fortress Firkat. It is the center of the Marijagerfjord municipality. Until January 1, 2007, the city was a commune in North Jutland, covering an area of 166 square kilometers and inhabited by 15,318 inhabitants. The Hobro commune ceased to exist due to the 2007 administrative reform.
