Taoyuan (Chinese trad. 桃園, pinyin Táoyuán) is an area of ​​the city of central subordination Taoyuan. History In the 18th century, settlers of the Hakka people settled here.

They planted peach trees in the vicinity and named the area "Tao-ah-yuan", which means "peach garden". Then this name was transformed into "Taoyuan", and under this name the settlement is mentioned in the documents of the Qing Empire in 1888.
