Iida is a municipality in the south of Nagano Prefecture. It is located in an agricultural area, in the middle Tenru river valley. Iida is surrounded by two ridges - Akaisi and Kiso. The neighbors of the municipality are the towns of Iijima, Kawanehon, Matsukawa, Takamori (Nagano Prefecture) and the cities of Shizuoka Prefecture (Hamamatsu, Shizuoka).
