Kanmon Bridge is the name of the road bridge that crosses the Kanmon Strait between Shimonoseki City, Yamaguchi Prefecture, and Moji Ward, Kitakyushu City, Fukuoka Prefecture, as well as the common name of the highway (highway) that includes this bridge.

About the bridge
It is a sea bridge connecting Dannuru , Shimonoseki town, which is the narrowest part of the Kanmon Strait, and Moji, Moji district, Kitakyushu town ( Mekari district).It opened on November 14, 1973. The bridge was 1,068 m long and had a maximum span length of 712 m. It surpassed the Wakato Bridge (bridge length 627 m, maximum span length 367 m) to become the longest suspension bridge in Japan and in the East at the time of opening ( 1983 (Shōwa) 1983) The Innoshima Bridge was completed as a larger bridge than the Kanmon Bridge and several larger bridges have since been erected).

Along with the Wakato Bridge, its construction pioneered internal long bridges such as the Akashi Kaikyo Bridge
