Almere (Dutch. Almere) is a city and community in the province of Flevoland in the central part of the Netherlands. It shares borders with the communities of Lelystad and Zewolde. The Almere municipality consists of the districts Almere Stad, Almere Haven, Almere Beyten, Almere Hout, Almere Port (under construction) and Almere Pampus (under construction).

Almere is one of the youngest cities in the Netherlands. His first house was completed in 1976, Almere became a separate community only in 1984. It is the largest community in the province of Flevoland with a population of 183,270 (as of January 1, 2008).
