Keflavik is a city on the Reykjanes Peninsula in southwestern Iceland. Population - 8169 inhabitants (2007). Since 1994, the city has been part of the single municipality of Reykjanesbair, where 13,256 people live (2007). Keflavik is located 30 km west of the capital of the country Reykjavik (by road - about 50 km), the city has a harbor, near the city there is an international airport of the same name. Until 2006, the city was the headquarters of the Icelandic Armed Forces.
