Cambodia is a country in southern Asia. The state has adopted the Buddhist religion.
Together with Laos and Vietnam, Cambodia has long been a colony: French Indochina. However, since 1954 Cambodia has become an independent country. After 1970, a dictatorship was established in the country.
Cambodia consists mainly of lowlands where a lot of rice is grown. Sesame and cotton also come from Cambodia. The most important river is the Mekong, which flows through Vietnam and enters the South China Sea.
